Last November something happened that I never would in my wildest dreams have imagined – I won an amazing holiday with Mark Warner at Blogfest!

The only dates we could make fell in the first week of the Summer school holidays. This is also the first time we have ever booked a holiday so far in advance. It was however one of the most brilliant things to do as having this to look forward to got me through some of the darkest days in the PGCE.

We flew with BA from Heathrow and as an extra treat stayed in the Sofitel at Heathrow, which was fab but I have to admit a bit wasted on us with the kids. It was very handy the next morning though to take the short walk to check in the next morning!

We stayed at the beautiful Levante beach resort in Rhodes. In all honesty a holiday like this wouldn’t be one we would have chosen before, but it really was just what we needed!

Childcare was available for the boys from 9-12 then 2.30-5 every day as well as in the evenings for activities and cinema. And it was brilliant, the boys loved every minute! The boys didn’t go every day (and we didn’t really even discover the evening childcare till towards the end of the holiday) but it was really nice knowing the option was there for everyone.

Holidays are, of course, about trying new fun things. The boys had an amazing time learning how to sail, wind surf and paddle board with their new found friends (and reacquaint themselves with some old ones), learnt new games to play and enjoyed their favourite activities with the fantastic nannies. At night it was lovely to hear all their stories and chatter.

At the same time we managed to have some time ourselves to try out some watersports, have a proper chill out, chat, play tennis and even read books (such a simple but rare pleasure!).

This really was the holiday of all holidays. We didn’t even leave the resort for the whole week. Next time (really hoping there will be a next time!) we will have to make it two weeks so we can do a proper sailing course, get out and about on the island and enjoy more family relaxation quality time.

Mark Warner offer fantastic family breaks both all year round – Sun and Ski – which are definitely worth planning for saving up for.

Huge thanks go to Emilia, Guy, Polly and everyone at Mark Warner plus all the amazing team at Levante Beach Resort (especially Sophie and Vic in childcare) for making our holiday so special.

  1. Your Mark Warner holiday sounds fab:) We are considering MW for Greece for coming summer, in the past we have always had twin stop hols or road trip style hols but for the first time ever we just fancy a fortnight at one resort with good food, water sports, kids clubs etc and I think Mark Warner, from what I keep on reading, ticks all these boxes! Thanks for sharing
