As soon as I heard about the latest campaign from Sony, to support the launch of their new Xperia X smartphone, asking the British public to share some of their most precious, fleeting moments; those blink and you’ll miss it moments that help define who you are and the life you lead, or as Sony is calling them, ‘X Moments’, I knew which photo I would choose.
This photo was taken in Sprint 2012 when Noah was 3 and Ethan 5. We were in the garden and the boys were playing in the paddling pool and having lots of fun. It was a lovely sunny day and I luckily my phone was to hand! I just caught this photo as Ethan ran over to his brother and I think it is so natural and cute showing the love and bond between them and how happy they are together. It was definitely one of those rare moments that you don’t often actually manage to catch on film and I love the memory.
Camera phones have really changed our ability to grab these precious moments and treasure them. I have literally thousands of photos of the boys and I was spoilt for choice of which one really was that “X Moment”. This one however is one I never forget.
There are also thousands of times that my phone hasn’t been to hand so easily and there are memories that will be in my mind and my heart forever yet never in photograph. You know when you just think “wish I had my camera with me”. One of those recently was when I took part in the Spencer Tunnick installation Sea of Hull. I didn’t take any photos! My friend did catch this one of us and obviously Spencer took lots – I will have to wait until next Spring to see his work which I am sure will be amazing!
What would be your X Moment? Would love to hear.
