Summit special: a guest post from @superluckydi - My Gorgeous Boys Blog

Hello there! I’m Di from Superlucky, and last weekend at the Tots100 Blog Summit I left with a bright red envelope, inside which it said ‘My Gorgeous Boys’, so here I am doing a guest post about Blog Summit – thanks for letting me loose on your blog Louise!
I had the most wonderful time at Blog Summit. This was for a number of reasons:
• it was incredible value for money (tickets were absolutely free!)
• it was in my glorious hometown of Birmingham
• I was fed and watered well throughout the day – there was even green tea!
• I met some lovely new blogging friends (waves to @gingerbisquite and @etspeaksfrom)
• I met some lovely old blogging friends too (waves to the Nottingham crew, @needaphone and @wendymcd83)
• I learnt a ton of stuff about SEO, SLR, PR and many other letter combinations
• I got a freebie HotWheels car in my Argos goodie bag

The atmosphere throughout the event was one of positivity, and though some bloggers were there to learn techy tips and tricks, many others were there just to chat and catch up with likeminded friends. There was a real sense of inspiration, which is why the marvelous closing presentation by Andy Cope was so well suited to the event. Andy is the author of a book called Being Brilliant, about how you can be a 2%er – one of the happiest people on the planet. At the end of the day Andy kindly gave me a copy of the book, which I got so engrossed in on the train I almost forgot to get off at Nottingham.

‘Being brilliant’ is all common sense really – stop rushing through life, and take time to appreciate every moment. Don’t count down the working days until your next holiday – but learn to enjoy and make the most of NOW. Being happy doesn’t come from material possessions or wealth – it comes from YOU. And that pot of gold over there at the end of the rainbow? It’s actually sitting at your feet – in my case, often disguised as a prize holiday or cheque!

I’m enormously guilty of squeezing too much into my life – I work as a Graphic Designer and Social Media Manager, blog about competitions and enter loads of comps too. I’m also eager to paint, craft, cook and go on adventures with my three year old son. But although I’m busy, I’m very passionate about everything I do – and I hope that positivity comes across on my blog and on Facebook. I want to inspire and motivate people with my blogging, and last weekend has given me a real boost.

Summit special, that’s for sure!
