Being wise with money is an essential skill in today’s consumerist society. Throwing children into the equation, and the expense they entail, frugal living and watching the pennies whilst still having a good quality of life is important. We are always on the look out for free things to do with the kids, or special deals where we can make the most of our money. This includes, of course, our current account where having the best one for your needs is crucial.
The Santander 1,2, 3 current account gives you money back when you use it to monthly household bills for just a £2 monthly fee. For example you can earn 1% cashback when setting up a direct debit to your supplier of water and council tax; 2% to pay your gas and electricity bills and 3% cashback for phone, broadband and pay for TV packages. Over time this really adds up to a massive saving which you can see on your statement online. The only thing you have to do is fund your account with at least £500 a month and set up at least two direct debits to take advantage of this deal. You can also earn up to a massive 3% interest if you are lucky enough to have a balance of between £3,000 and £20,000 which rivals many savings accounts!
Furthermore, it is super easy to switch your account from your current bank and you could be all set up within 7 days thanks to the Current Account Switch service which is rated 5 Star by Defaqto, an independent financial research company.
Once you are all set up your account can be managed online, via telephone, mobile or branch as well as the trusty cash machine. There is also a fabulous text service where you can be notified via text message if your balance drops below or above a predetermined level. My husband loves this service for some reason!
Here we are in London, making the most of some of the free activities on at the fabulous Science Museum (donations welcome)! Noah loved the water and soft play area in the basement, which really he is getting on the big side for and Ethan had great fun creating robots.
We also went to watch the Changing of the Guards, not at Buckingham Palace but at Horse Guards Parade which I think is better as you can get closer to the action and it isn’t as busy.
Does your current account offer you such a great deal back?!
