Today we had an inset day and the youngest was not at nursery anyway.

As they were full of life I asked them what they wanted to do. First thing was go to Ikea! They just love the ball pool there which offers free childcare for up to an hour. I could hardly argue with the chance of a cuppa in peace could I!

Next request was to go ice skating. We have been a few times before over the years. It is a session for under 5’s (or their siblings if they are older). Noah used to ride around in a car and I pushed him around whilst Ethan marched about with a penguin. They love it! There is an “island” in the centre with cuddly toys on that they can sit on to take a break.

Today they had also set out an ice hockey goal and pucs as well as some skittles to weave in between.

Towards the end of the session (which is around about an hour) they stop to have juice and a biscuit and then foam “snow” is blasted out onto the rink. This is Ethan’s favourite bit!

They seemed pretty confident and had lots of fun.. here are some highlights..

Later on it was youngest’s Nativity play with preschool. More to follow on that but it was very cute!
