Last Friday we headed to the opening of the new Children’s Air Ambulance charity shop in West Bridgeford. This is the first high street store for the charity. The organisation will provide children with an air transfer service that will reduce travel times and allow specialist NHS clinical teams to travel with the child quickly, increasing the chance of recovery. The charity rely entirely on donations, sponsorship and fundraising events receiving no money from the government or National Lottery. Although (luckily) we have not had to make use of their service it is something you hope would be there in times of need.
Anton Du Beke, TV presenter and dance star, injected some “celebrity” into the proceedings by cutting the ribbon for the grand opening of the store. How exciting!
The shop itself is definitely a charity shop with a difference! The shop felt light and airy, despite been pretty full with the throngs of Anton fans! And the goods for sale, a mixture of second hand and brand new were exceptional quality and bargain prices.
The Bongo Bongo team were there to say hello to little ones – Noah (not quite being of the age to appreciate ADB headed straight for the monkey!).
We bought a lovely little ELC wooden clock to help the boys learn the time for the bargain price of 95p!!
We must make a date to head back there though (when it is less busy!) as the guy in front of us at the till was buying Gant jeans and a Joules rugby shirt (both still with tags attached!) for less than £40.00 for both! My hubbie would love them!
We had a great time and Noah particuarly enjoyed the delicious cupcakes 🙂 Thanks for the invite Helen!
