newzealandBack in 2003, in that time before marriage and children we went to the other side of the world, visiting New Zealand for two weeks.

As this week’s Gallery theme is Rewind I thought it would be the perfect time to reminisce on this fantastic roadtrip.

We landed in Auckland and travelled up to the Bay of Islands to visit Russell, then to down to Waitomo Caves for black water rafting, to Rotorua to visit the thermal bath, did a sky dive at 12,000 feet over Lake Taupo and finally headed to Wellington where we go the boat to the South Island.

Here we visited Abel Tasman, did a heli-hike on the Franz Josef Glacier and visited Queenstown for more adventures.

We then spent a night on Milford Sound an awesome fjord with the most dramatic and beautiful scenery.

I am so glad we had adventures like this before settling down and starting a family.

Oh wow Louise, what a wonderful post and awesome photographs. Sounds like you had the best time there too. Funnily enough I’ve written a couple of What’s The Story? posts on New Zealand recently including the Waitomo Caves, Rotorua and the Tongariro Crossing! Would love to do South Island one day!

wow what a beaurtodful country and some fab photos. I have a friend who has been twice now (she has family living out there now) and she has nothing but lovely things to say about it and i think if it was not for how much she loves the town she lives in here, she would love over there in a shot! x
