Many years ago, in the time before children, we went to see Ian Brown perform live at Thetford Forest in Norfolk. It was 2005, the sun was shining and there was a chilled out festival atmosphere. The location made it even more special and intimate.
This year the Forestry Commission have a selection of fantastic artists to entertain us in their forests offering a unique experience of going to a gig in a forest. Live music in the outdoors cannot be beaten in my opinion. The forest is, of course, the place for all the family and the perfect place to play and explore or just relax and unwind.
We are going to be at the wonderful Sherwood Pines to see Guy Garvey on Saturday 25 June 2016. I have seen Guy Garvey perform lots of times with Elbow and love their music so transferred to the relaxing ambiance of the woodlands is going to be mind blowing!
Sherwood Pines is a really magical place in any circumstance. We love visiting the play areas, walking in the forest, going for a bike ride or just relaxing with a hot chocolate in the cafe. The fresh clean air and beauty of nature always invigorate and you feel like you have had a little minibreak just from a couple of hours visit.
The income from ticket sales goes directly back into the local forest which can only be a good thing.
Tickets for the Guy Garvey gig cost £36 (plus £4.10 booking fee) and are on sale now from the Forestry Commission box office, tel 03000 680400 or buy online.
Forest Live tickets are not required for children aged 5 and under, who can attend free of charge. Children aged 6 or above require a full price ticket. Under 16s must be accompanied by an adult aged 18+.
Have you been to a Forest Live concert? Would love to hear all about it!
Fingers crossed the sun shines for us!
