It was a beautiful autumnal day, the sun was shining and the air was crisp. Oh and it was my birthday!

We were heading to Yorkshire to stay for the first time in a camping pod (as we had thought late September would be a little nippy for the tent – oh how we were mistaken!).

Before heading off we thought it appropriate to have a little snack – our Barny cakes! These sponge bears available in milk (chocolate sponge with a gooey milk centre) or chocolate (vanilla sponge with a gooey chocolate centre) are a delicious start to a day of adventure. They retail at £1.69 for a packet of five individually wrapped bears and have no artificial colours or preservatives. They are also very delicious, but our favorites were the milk ones!

We love adventures and are always looking for new ways to have fun, particularly in the outdoors where the boys can run free and make as much noise as they like (within reason of course!).

Brimham Rocks near Harrogate, has been a favourite place of mine growing up, and visiting as an adult. However as we live miles away we have never taken the boys.

It just is the perfect place to have an adventure. The rocks give an almost spiritual feel to the place, providing great places to climb up and up and up or just perch on to admire the views of Nidderdale and beyond.

Now the boys are both at school we treasure days like this.

We had an awesome day and can’t wait to go back. When the boys are a little older they can take part in the climbing activities for children and there are stacks of other events and activities we would love to take part in. I just wish we lived a little nearer!

This post is an entry for BritMums ‘Little Adventures Challenge’ in partnership with Barny, the bear-shaped snack providing a little discovery in every bite. Find out more about Barny here.

We were sent two packets of Barny cakes in milk and chocolate but all  opinions expressed within are our own unbiased views. By taking part in this challenge we are in with a chance of winning a luxury rustic family holiday adventure at Featherdown Farm worth £750 or one of x3 £200 Argos vouchers. Fingers crossed!
